A new technology is emerging. All across the United States teams are building autonomous ground vehicles to race in competitions such as the DARPA Grand Challenge. From start to finish the robots will have to drive themselves. They will have to navigate their way along pre-programmed routes as well as react to new situations and unknown obstacles. The first team to finish receives a multimillion dollar prize.
